Dress Code

Gentlemen and Junior Boys Dress Code

We would like our members and visitors to experience us as friendly, cheerful and welcoming and keep rules to a minimum. However we are a traditional golf club and would appreciate it if members and visitors respect that in their dress.

ON THE COURSE

  • Clothes should be clean, in reasonable condition (not frayed, with holes) and suitable (in design and appearance) for golf.
  • Blue denim jeans, cargo trousers (or shorts), track suits, tennis or beach shorts are not permitted. Shorts must be tailored and may be worn with knee length or short white socks.
  • Shirts should be tucked in.
  • Golf shoes with, or without, spikes must be worn.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE

  • Dress code will be determined for events but otherwise it is smart/casual throughout the clubhouse, including the dining-room, from 1st May to 30th September; from 1st October to 30th April the dress code in the dining-room is Jacket, tie optional.
  • Golf shoes are permitted in the spike bar but only if they are cleaned before entry to minimise the dirt brought inside and the bar is accessed and exited by the outside staircase.  This applies to any type of golf shoe.
  • Blue denim jeans, trainers, sandals, flip flops or other open toed shoes are not permitted.

Ladies Dress Code

ON THE COURSE

  • Golf tops should be acceptable golf apparel. They should have collars, be smart and tailored when worn outside skirts, shorts and trousers.
  • Shorts, skorts, and skirts should be tailored and an appropriate length.
  • Blue denim jeans, cargo trousers (or shorts), track suits or jogging suits are not permitted.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE

  • Ladies should conform to the general dress code of the Club when attending functions in the Clubhouse.
  • Trainers are not acceptable, nor are denim jeans or skirts.
