Ashridge Golf Club

Dress Code

Gentleman's Dress Code

We would like our members and visitors to experience us as friendly, cheerful and welcoming and keep rules to a minimum. However we are a traditional golf club and would appreciate it if members and visitors respect that in their dress.

ON THE COURSE

  • Clothes should be clean, in reasonable condition (not frayed, with holes) and suitable (in design and appearance) for golf.
  • Blue denim jeans, cargo trousers (or shorts), track suits, tennis or beach shorts are not permitted. Shorts must be tailored and may be worn with knee length or short white socks.
  • Shirts should be tucked in.
  • Golf shoes with, or without, spikes must be worn.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE

  • Dress code will be determined for events but otherwise it is smart/casual throughout the clubhouse, including the dining-room, from the start of British Summer Time to the end of British Summer Time. Thereafter the dress code in the dining-room is jacket required, tie optional.
  • Golf shoes are permitted in the spike bar but only if they are cleaned before entry to minimise the dirt brought inside and the bar is accessed and exited by the outside staircase.  This applies to any type of golf shoe.
  • Blue denim jeans, trainers, sandals, flip flops or other open toed shoes are not permitted.

Ladies Dress Code

ON THE COURSE

  • Golf clothes should be smart and suitable in design and appearance for golf.
  • Blue denim or track suits are not permitted.
  • Golf shoes, with or without spikes must be worn.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE

  • The ladies dress code is generally ‘Smart Casual’, but some events may specify their own dress codes.
  • Golf shoes are permitted in the spike bar only, please remember to clean your shoes, and use the outside staircase.
  • Blue denim or track suits are not permitted.
